學(xué)習(xí)許可（study permit），俗稱“大簽”，是加拿大移民局準(zhǔn)許申請人在加拿大進(jìn)行學(xué)習(xí)的法律文件。
臨時居民簽證（temoprary resident visa），俗稱“小簽”，是加拿大移民局準(zhǔn)許申請人入境加拿大并臨時居住的法律文件。“小簽”按來加拿大的目的不同，會在上面進(jìn)行不同的標(biāo)注，如：student，worker，visitor等。對于留學(xué)生來說，“大簽”是“小簽”的前提，兩者配套使用才可以合法地進(jìn)入加拿大學(xué)習(xí)。但是在有些情況下，就算“大簽”或者“小簽”過期了，卻還是可以合法進(jìn)入加拿大的，下面我們就來詳細(xì)介紹一下。
1對于這種情況，移民局的官方解釋如下：
You can request to return to Canada on youroriginaltemporary resident visa, even if it is expired, if:
you willonlyvisit the U.S. or St. Pierre and Miquelon; and
you will return to Canadabeforethe end of your approved stay in Canada.
An officer will confirm whether you meet all the requirements before allowing you to come back to Canada.If you visit any country other than those listed above, you will need a new temporary resident visa.
解讀：
在“小簽”過期的情況下，必須同時滿足以下兩個條件才可以入境加拿大：
從加拿大出境后，你只去了美國或者圣皮埃爾和密克??；
在回來加拿大的時候，你在加拿大的許可居住時間仍然有效。對留學(xué)生來說，也就是你的“大簽”（study permit）還在有效期。
注意：在入境加拿大的時候，邊境人員會檢查你的狀態(tài)。作為留學(xué)生的你，之前沒有好好讀書的話，那么就算你的“大簽”仍有效，也面臨被拒絕入境的風(fēng)險，甚至有可能被吊銷大簽。
如果你從加拿大出境后去了除美國或者圣皮埃爾和密克隆以外的地方，你就必須申請一個新的“小簽”。

If you have applied to extend your study permit and plan on traveling outside Canada while your application is in process, you can leave Canada and come back. However, one of three things will happen when you return to Canada:
You may be admitted to Canada as a temporary resident visitor, ifCIChas not yet decided to extend your study permit.If so, youcannotstudy until you receive your new permit.The officer at the port of entry may ask you to prove you have enough money to support yourself in Canada.
You may be admitted to Canada as a student, if the officer at the port of entry can confirm that CIC extended your study permit while you were away.
You may be asked to apply for a new study permit at the port of entry.
Note: It is possible that you will not be able to enter Canada. The final decision is made at the border by the border services officer.
解讀：
如果“小簽”仍有效，但是“大簽”過期了，而且你已經(jīng)在有效期內(nèi)遞交了續(xù)簽的申請，在等候申請期間你可以離開加拿大再回來。但是，在入境時會有以下幾種情況發(fā)生：
如果續(xù)簽的結(jié)果還沒有出來，你可以以臨時居民的身份入境，但是在新的“大簽”下發(fā)之前，你不能學(xué)習(xí)。邊檢人員可能會要求提供支持你在加拿大居住的資金證明。
如果邊檢人員證實，在你旅游期間，續(xù)簽已經(jīng)通過審批，那么你可以以學(xué)生的身份入境，繼續(xù)你的學(xué)業(yè)。
你被要求在入境口岸現(xiàn)場申請一個新的“大簽”。
注意：是否準(zhǔn)許入境的決定權(quán)在與邊境檢查人員，如果在審核狀態(tài)時，發(fā)現(xiàn)你沒有滿足入境條件（例如，非法打工或者有犯罪行為），邊檢人員可以拒絕你入境，甚至可以吊銷你的“小簽
